Stress and overwhelm shouldn’t consume you at work
Do you have a desire to do something else, but don’t know what it is?
Need help creating healthy relationships with coworkers, clients, and bosses?
Have the microaggressions become too much and you want to figure out how to address this behavior?
Have you had trouble defining what success looks like for you?
Do you wish you had help figuring out what your ideal job and life would or could look like?
Do you wish you had the confidence to ask for the raise or promotion you know you deserve?
Finding what you’re truly passionate about and turning it into a career can be difficult. Growing up we are often made to feel that after graduating high school we should know exactly what we want to do and work towards pursuing it. Or we may be taught that as long as you get the bills paid, happiness isn’t a priority. So instead of working to find a job that you are happy with, you go to work miserable. You don’t have good relationships with your coworkers or your boss, and getting work done is mundane and boring. Perhaps you’re in your dream role, but your communication and relationships at work are impacted by beliefs that work and personal need to be kept separate, and this lack of connection is taking the joy out of working.
If you don’t explore the challenges you’re having at work, they’ll continue to build and your frustration, stress, and overwhelm will only continue to grow.
No matter how hard you work or how much effort you put into building relationships with your coworkers and colleagues, you’re bound to face hiccups at your job. It’s inevitable and completely normal. There will be coworkers you don’t mesh with, clients who give you headaches, and certain roles that leave you feeling unsatisfied or undervalued. However, when these issues are consistent and don’t get addressed, dealing with them can leave you feeling drained and disengaged.
In fact, according to research, 50% of people in America are disengaged at work, meaning they’re basically sleepwalking through their day-getting work done with no passion or energy. Feeling disengaged or unsatisfied could lead to you not putting forth as much effort as you could or should. You may find yourself doing just enough to get by or remaining in your comfort zone because you don’t see the point.
You don’t socialize or network much, because rather than seeing your coworkers and colleagues as friends on your career journey-you view them as people who don’t mean much to you. But not having friends at work can make your environment even harder to deal with.
It also could be just the opposite for you. Perhaps you love your job, but you feel you’re undervalued. You are putting in the effort and doing your best to make the most of your job but you aren’t appreciated. You don’t feel heard and you know you are more than worthy of a raise or a promotion, but you don’t know how to approach your boss. You need help improving your confidence so you can make your voice heard and express what exactly you need in order for you to feel satisfied.
Or you may be disengaged because you have other things you’d like to pursue, like starting your own business. But your fear of failing and your self doubt, prevent you from quitting and going after what you’re really passionate about. Perhaps you have Imposter Syndrome, which causes you to question if you have the talent to turn your passion into a sustainable career. And the idea of relying on yourself to create your dream life is so overwhelming that you settle for your 9-5, all the while daydreaming about how things could be.
While you may be getting by day to day, this isn’t how it has to or should be.

If you feel confused about what you really want to do in life or need help figuring out how to deal with your boss or coworkers, workplace stress counseling may be worth considering. During our sessions, we can explore what you feel is holding you back and stopping you from stepping out of your comfort zone.
If you know you love what you do, but it has been difficult to attain the growth and level of success that you know you deserve OR if you are struggling to deal with the multiple ‘isms” (racism, sexism, classism, etc ) that can impact your career journey, workplace counseling may also be a great option.
It may also be worth considering if you need help learning how to communicate better so you have healthy work relationships, and the confidence to ask for what you need to make your job enjoyable.
Unlike career counseling, we won’t necessarily individually explore careers, salaries, and companies to work for, but rather focus on how to deal with both internal/external barriers you are dealing with so you can have a better work experience.
Our team truly takes the time to learn more about your current challenges and what your goals are for your career , and we’ll work together to create solutions or a plan to help you create a better work environment or help you find your true passion.
I heard workplace stress counseling is expensive, what if I can’t afford it?
It’s important that you look at therapy as an investment in yourself. An investment that could lead to you having a better work environment, fostering better relationships with your coworkers, and the confidence to step out of your comfort zone and live your best life. As someone once said “Therapy has been the best financial investment I’ve ever made in myself!” That’s how we want you to feel! Like this investment makes complete and total sense because my sense of peace, finding my authentic self, and ridding myself of this damn monster is totally worth it!
While we are not paneled with any insurance companies, we still believe in helping our clients obtain the best possible care. We are Out of Network Providers, which means we can help you submit claims to your insurance so that you can take advantage of your out of network benefits. We take care of that process (if you would like) so you do not have to worry about any of the red tape or paperwork. We also gladly accept vouchers from the Love Land Foundation to help offset the cost of your therapy. Please don’t let cost be your barrier. Give us a call and let’s talk about it.
